MAKING A DIFFERENCE,

MAKING A DIFFERENCE,
TOGETHER
In Monica's memory, we have partnered with the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to create the Monica K Young Foundation Fund. This fund will support and alleviate the burden of medical expenses on financially vulnerable ovarian cancer patients and their families.
The Monica K. Young Foundation donates a portion of all funds raised to the Penn Ovarian Cancer Research Center (OCRC) & Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
At OCRC, Dr. Ronny Drapkin and his team are working to develop a way to detect nascent tumors early using biomarkers pulled from the tumor microenvironment. This work builds upon past research, led by Dr. Drapkin, that shows that most high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC), the most common subtype of ovarian cancer, begins in the fallopian tube, rather than the ovary itself. The OCRC team is at the forefront of developing model systems to study the fallopian tube, understand its propensity for cancerous growth, and leverage this insight to identify early detection biomarkers.
We are proud to support and partner with Turn The Towns Teal®,
a national campaign that promotes awareness of ovarian cancer and
it's subtle symptoms. Awareness of these symptoms can lead to early detection, and often, a better prognosis. Join us and turn your town, business or home teal this September!
